14 May...

Outstanding OFSTED Inspection!

OFSTED - Office For Standards  in EDucation

The last thing we wanted during SATs week was an OFSTED inspection but, on Wednesday 14th May, the Inspector arrived.

She visited our breakfast club, looked at all classrooms in action and saw 3 lessons in more detail. She talked to children, parents, governors, teachers and of course, at length, the Headteacher.

She looked at our books, our playtime routines, our provision for able children and for vulnerable children. She checked our paperwork and assessment files, tracking systems and a multitude of other procedures and systems in place in our school.

After a very busy day she was delighted to tell us that she had judged our school to be OUTSTANDING in every category.

We are all delighted with this inspection result, following the OUTSTANDING result gained in our previous Inspection in 2004.

Congratulations, to everyone involved in the very successful life of

Harefield Junior School!

08 February ...

Very successful NACE inspection carried out.

NACE - the National Association for Able Children in Education

Our Gifted and Talented co-ordinator, Miss Dudman, has spent the past 18 months compiling a file of evidence of our school's provision for able, gifted and talented children.

On the 8th February 2008, NACE Inspectors visited our school.

They looked at children's books and the work being done in school and they watched lessons in almost every class.

They interviewed governors, parents, teachers, the Headteacher and children.

They were very satisfied with what they heard and saw so we have been accredited with the NACE Challenge Award for excellence in whole-school provision for able, gifted and talented pupils.

We are the first school in the London Borough of Hillingdon to gain this award, and only the ninth school in all the boroughs of London.

            Congratulations, Harefield Junior School!
