Before Easter we were contacted by a teacher in Queensland, Australia who was leading a visit to the UK in April to commemorate ANZAC. They visited Harefield on 16th April with a group of Australian children, who had won the Queensland's Premier's ANZAC Prize.
The House Captains, accompanied by Mrs Taylor, Mrs Scott and Mrs Brazier were invited to join them at a service at St Mary's ANZAC churchyard. The service was written by the Australian students and our House Captains assisted them in placing crosses and flags at the memorial. The service was very moving and the children were a credit to our school. We felt very proud to be included in this service and hope it will become an annual event.
